Telford Samaritans working for free from our King Street branch help provide a national, confidential, 24/7 listening service for anyone in distress, providing non-judgmental emotional support by phone or email. This work is supported by donations directly to our branch, and by donations to our charity shop in Wellington, Telford. We no longer provide face to face support in the Telford area.

Volunteers from Telford train and support people in a near by prison on an ongoing basis to become Listeners inside the prison. We don't provide face-to-face emotional support directly to people inside the prison. Instead, we pass on our listening skills to specially selected prisoners so they can help their peers. Or to put it another way: we help to run a prison-based "mini Samaritans branch" where the listening shifts are all staffed by people in prison.
