Welcome to Samaritans of Yeovil, Sherborne & District, an enthusiastic team of over 100 volunteers from all backgrounds who help create a safe place to talk for people struggling to cope.
Our home, Morley House, Yeovil
Samaritans of Yeovil, Sherborne & District is based at Morley House in Yeovil Town Centre.
We work to reduce the number of deaths by suicide, by listening on the phone to anyone having a difficult time. At present, we are unable to accept face to face callers. If you’re feeling isolated and in need of support, please call Samaritans for free from any phone on 116 123.
Can you help us to continue to meet the needs of those struggling to cope by donating to Yeovil Samaritans? To donate, please see the top of this page.
VOLUNTEERS
Listening volunteers spend three hours a week in our centre listening on the phone to all kinds of people who need a confidential, non-judgmental ear to listen at a tough time in their life. We also have a vital team of Support volunteers who give their time to help in roles such as fundraising, publicity and IT.
If you are 18 or over, why not join us at one of our information evenings on the first Wednesday of every month at 7.00pm. These are held at our premises at Morley House, 26 West Hendford, Yeovil, BA20 1XE. Just turn up, no need to book! Parking on site.
As a Listening or Support volunteer, you will be fully trained and become part of a supportive, friendly and worthwhile organisation working in a fantastic building.
