Samaritans of Cornwall at Truro
Since 1970, Cornwall Samaritans have been listening to those in need of an empathetic ear when things are getting to them. As well as a freephone telephone service and, in non-Covid times, welcome callers for face to face conversations in the branch. When possible, we will also return to our Outreach activities in the community.
Our Charity shop
Our amazing shop at Par Market is open fully now on Wednesdays, Sat and Sundays. Come and pick up a bargain and help support our amazing branch. Find out more about visiting or volunteering at our charity shop here.
Volunteering with our branch
There are 2 types of volunteers, all ordinary people who have followed the Samaritan training programme.
Support Volunteers are crucial in all kinds of ways in keeping the branch running – for example as an independent charity we are responsible for our own running costs.
Listening Volunteers, who are at the end of the line for callers.
The past year has seen a rise in the number of people wanting to volunteer with us, both in support and listening roles. If you think that volunteering with Samaritans is something you might be interested in, please click HERE
