Thank you for your interest in Samaritans of Bournemouth and District branch.

We are proud to be part of the national Samaritans charity, providing emotional and non-judgemental support offering a safe space to talk through your feelings.

Bournemouth Branch has been open since 1961 and was the sixth branch to open outside of Central London. Our branch has grown in volunteer numbers over the years; and we are now open every day, 365 days a year. In 2021, our volunteers continued to answer calls and emails in branch, where our volunteers responded to just under 18,000 calls and around 7,000 emails.

Bournemouth Samaritans is proud to engage with our local communities working with local schools, Bournemouth University, Bournemouth Police (working in their Custody Suite), Hope For Food and Southwestern Rail amongst others. We also give talks to Veteran Military organisations and are one of six branches nationally to provide specific veteran support. If you would like us to deliver a talk at your local organisation or business, please get in touch.

Our trained volunteers reflect the diverse community of Bournemouth and the surrounding areas. We are proud of every one of our listening and support volunteers!

Our branch can only remain open with your generous donations, fundraisers and gifts in wills. We have been delighted to have been nominated as Charity of the Year by a number of local organisations, sports clubs and businesses.
