Volunteer at a fundraising event and help us support our Team Samaritans' fundraisers!

Here at Samaritans we are fortunate to have lots of amazing supporters taking on fundraising challenges throughout the year – taking in part in runs, bike rides and other sporting events.

As a way of supporting our fundraisers, we attend events like the London Marathon to cheer on and support our teams on the day.

You can join us there as an Events Volunteer, helping to provide an unforgettable experience for everyone on Team Samaritans!

Cheerers at London Marathon 2021

Cheerer

You’ll join us at a designated Samaritans cheer point on the event route to cheer on our runners or cyclists. Be ready for cheering, clapping, high-fives, big smiles and words of encouragement to motivate our team to get to the finish line!

We'll provide you with a Samaritans t-shirt and there will be cheering items available to use.

Cheeerer volunteers at London Marathon 2021

Photographer

Capture photos of our participants as they go by on the event course. You'll be at one of our charity cheer points, where you'll also take shots of our volunteers as they cheer on runners. We’d love your support whether you are a professional photographer, hobbyist or looking to build your sports photography skills.

Massages taking place at the Great North Run

Massage Therapist

Attend our post-race reception venue and help our Samaritans participants recover from their challenge with a relaxing massage. As one of our volunteer team you'll be welcoming and friendly, chatting to charity supporters about their event. Massage Therapy experience is required for this role, whether you are in training or qualified.

Volunteering with Samaritans

We know that on the day support is vital to our team, who have dedicated months of training, all to raise funds and awareness for Samaritans.

You’ll be joining a dedicated and friendly team for the day, with full guidance and support for your volunteer role. With flexible opportunities available, you can join us for as long as you like.
