By registering to join #TeamSamaritans in a third-party organised event, you understand and agree to the terms and conditions below:
- You agree to pay a non-refundable registration fee to secure your entry into the event. This fee does not contribute towards your fundraising target.
- You are medically fit to train and participate in this third-party organised event.
- That you are on or above the minimum age stipulated by the Event Organiser.
- You agree to meet your minimum sponsorship target and to speak with a member of the Events Team if at any point you feel that you need additional fundraising support.
- Samaritans will email you to share event information, training tips, and advice to support you to reach your fundraising target.
- It can take 8-10 weeks for a Gift Aid claim to be processed and for Samaritans to receive the money from HMRC. For this reason, I understand that Gift Aid won’t count towards my fundraising target. However, it ensures that the charity can claim an additional 25% of all eligible donations from the government. Please let us know if you would like to find out more about Gift Aid.
- If you supply your telephone number we may text you from time to time with important event information and/or use it to contact you about your application.
- Samaritans will use your postal address to send you an information pack and a Samaritans running top or t-shirt if applicable.
- You agree to only use lawful means to fundraise and not to do anything that is likely to harm Samaritans’ reputation.
- If you need to withdraw from an event before the registration deadline and wish to defer your place, please contact the Events Team, and let us know. If the event organiser's policy allows, you can roll your place over to the same event the following year, subject to availability. You can only defer your place once. Any money you have raised can also be rolled over to your future fundraising target, but you may need to pay a registration fee for the next year's event.
- All event places paid for by Samaritans Central Charity must be used to fundraise for central charity.
- You grant permission for Samaritans to use photographs, motion pictures, quotes, or any other record of your participation in the event for the purpose of marketing future events online and on print materials, for a period of 5 years.
- You understand that the event you are registering for is not organised by Samaritans, but by a third party (“Event Organiser”). Please read any terms and conditions issued by the Event Organisers and to comply with these.
- You may be required to complete an additional registration form for the third-party event organiser so they can confirm your entry into the event. You agree that it is your responsibility to ensure this form is completed by the given deadline. You understand that if it is not completed your event entry may be withdrawn. We will make reasonable efforts to make you aware if this is applicable to your entry and what the deadline for completion is.
To comply with these and any further rules and requirements about fundraising, which Samaritans notify:
- Your actions will not incur Samaritans any cost, claim, loss, or liability.
- You will take responsibility for the safekeeping of money raised in the Samaritans name, until it is transferred to the Samaritans.
- To conduct your fundraising in a respectful and positive manner and not in a way that could be seen as intrusive.
- To only use Samaritans’ materials and logos for the purposes of your fundraising activity.
- To pay Samaritans all monies raised and return any fundraising materials within 4 weeks of your event date.
Samaritans may vary these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The up-to-date terms shall be available on this website.
