Samaritans Southampton & District are looking for a new Secretary Trustee to join the Branch Leadership Team. In addition to secretarial responsibilities, you will help us shape how the charity moves forward and be involved in defining and delivering our strategy.

What's involved:

The new Secretary will work closely with other members of the Branch Leadership Team to communicate clearly and sensitively and to take an active part in discussions and decision making. They should stay informed on the responsibilities of Trustees which are required by the Charity Commission. They will also have responsibility for filing returns and completing the activities associated with the AGM. They will take advice where needed, and exercise sound and independent judgement. They will need to be able to see the bigger picture, recognise the main points in a complex situation and make informed decisions.

Time commitment:

The Trustees meet four times each year and the Branch Leadership Team meet every 2 months. The majority of our meetings are via Zoom.
