Help us make sure that no one has to face things alone.
Every 10 seconds, Samaritans responds to a call for help.
If one of your family members or friends needed to call Samaritans you may never know, but you would want us to be there to answer that call if it came in.
Right now, we're needed more than ever. Around 23,000 Samaritans volunteers give up their time in 201 branches and locations across the UK and Ireland. We’re the UK’s only free 24-hour emotional support and life-saving service – we’re here when no one else is.
But we can't do it alone
Sadly today, life is getting harder for many people. Not all of us have someone to talk to and, even if we do, we can still feel crippling loneliness and pressure and need a kind ear to listen to us about whatever we’re going through – that’s why Samaritans is here.
But we’re struggling to meet demand. We’re expecting to receive over 3.5 million calls for help this year alone.
Please help us be there for people in distress, our callers are from all walks of life, and often Samaritans is the only place they have to turn to.
Together, we can make change that saves lives.
I was on the sofa on my own, having panic attacks and thoughts about suicide. Everything had got on top of me. I didn’t feel I could even talk to my partner, but I needed someone who I didn’t know to just sit there and let me be vulnerable. At that point, Samaritans was there.
