The proposed research aims to investigate the association between socioeconomic disadvantage and suicidal behaviour in Northern Ireland. By examining the unique cultural, social, and individual factors, as well as the societal and community-level influences, the study seeks to shed light on the reasons behind this connection and identify effective strategies to address it. The research will consider societal, community, and individual factors to provide a comprehensive understanding of the issue. Please note this is follow-on research conducted by Samaritans in the UK in 2017 entitled Dying from Inequality.
