It’s official! We’re about to drop some news that’s going to blow up your chat: Jacksepticeye has teamed up with Samaritans for Thankmas 2024 - and we’re the first-ever charity across the UK and Ireland to do so.
If you’re part of the streaming scene, you’ve probably heard of Sean McLoughlin, aka Jacksepticeye - the OG content creator who’s been leveling up YouTube with his hilarious gameplay and a community of 55 million followers. But what you might not know is that he’s also a legend IRL as well.
Thankmas, his annual fundraising event, rallies creators and communities worldwide to make a difference. Since it first began, Thankmas has raised a jaw-dropping $26 million for charities. And this year, Sean’s keeping it real, focusing on something we can all get behind - mental health.
Anyone who’s been part of my streams knows I’m big on mental health awareness and self-care. Helping provide support is something I really care about, so partnering with Samaritans and Crisis Text Line for Thankmas just felt right.
Sean
Thankmas 2024 is more than just a hype moment - it’s a lifeline. The funds raised will help us, and US-based charity Crisis Text Line, provide 24/7 support for people struggling to cope. When we go live and raise funds this Thankmas, we’ll be letting people everywhere know they have a place to turn, no matter what time it is or where they are.
Streaming isn’t just about games - it’s about community. Streamers, gamers, content creators and their amazing audiences already know how to show up for each other, and with Thankmas, we’re taking that energy to the next level.
Are you ready to level-up with Samaritans and Jacksepticeye? Then listen up!
The main event kicks off on Friday, 6 December 2024, with Jackseptic eye hosting a live-streamed extravaganza on YouTube that promises good vibes and good deeds as he sets the stage for a whole community of movers, shakers and stream makers to raise funds in the name of supporting mental health. But the fun doesn’t stop there! Content creators of all sizes are invited to join the mission by fundraising throughout December. Whether you’re a veteran streamer or you’ve just started your channel, your voice matters. This is your chance to get online and play your part.
So, what are you waiting for? Let’s team up and make this Thankmas the biggest one yet. Together, we can show the world that when it comes to mental health, no one has to play solo.
