Supporting grief in the workplace
The national Dying Matters Awareness week (week commencing 8th May) will be encouraging communities across the country to come together to talk about death, dying and grief in the workplace.
"57% of employees will have experienced a bereavement in the last five years and every day, more than 600 people quit work to look after older and disabled relatives", so many colleagues have been bereaved or experiencing anticipatory grief, so it is important to start to normalise these conversations and for people to realise that they are not alone.
