Samaritans volunteers at Warrington Bank Quay and Newton-le-Willows handed out teabags and contact cards to encourage connection
On Monday 20 January, volunteers from the Samaritans Warrington, Halton, and St Helens branch took part in the Brew Monday initiative at Warrington Bank Quay and Newton-le-Willows stations during the evening rush hour. The goal was simple: to raise awareness of the Samaritans service and encourage people to connect with friends and family through the simple act of sharing a cup of tea.

Volunteers handed out contact cards and free tea bags to commuters, offering a reminder that support is available for those who may be struggling with their mental health, not just on dark January days but 24 hours a day all year round.

Connecting with the public in these busy spaces, can start a conversation or act as a reminder to take a moment to check in with someone close to them. It also helps put it on people's radar that Samaritans is there for everyone.
