Volunteers from Wakefield and Huddersfield branch attended the Mayor of Kirklees Bollywood Celebration!
Samaritans, along with Diabetes UK, has been named the Mayor of Kirklees chosen charity for 2020! We are honoured to be working with the Mayor on supporting our local community and are grateful for his support. Attending his Bollywood Celebration this month, our very own Trevor from the Wakefield branch was joined by Ben and Leticia from Huddersfield branch. Working across branches has been exciting for Wakefield not only at this event but at attendance of local forums and strategy meetings. We are grateful to Huddersfield for their support and excited to continue working with them!

The event at Dewsbury Town Hall was a great success and a very enjoyable evening. We're looking forward to supporting the Mayor in his work and continuing to support our community! Thank you for your hospitality!
I've chosen to support The Samaritans following personal experience of helping someone I knew who was struggling with issues going on in their life. The sense of helplessness I felt throughout this experience, and a visit as Deputy Mayor to an event organised by a local Samaritans Branch, led me to my decision to support the charity.
