Our new campaign here in Wakefield to celebrate our volunteers and recruit new ones!
Could you be one of us?
57% of our volunteers prefer tea over coffee. How about you? Though there's a tendency to forget that our volunteers aren't just a voice at the end of the phone, in this series we are looking to celebrate them for who they are and show you that you could be One of Us too!
Our volunteers are ordinary people doing extraordinary things just by listening and you could join us. Giving up 12 hours every 4 weeks (that's three shifts per month) you can make a huge difference to those who need a listening ear. Full training is provided and plenty of support is given to ensure you feel happy, confident and supported in your role with us. If it sounds good to you, find out more here.
Our Volunteers are Amazing
Q. What amazing thing did you do that no one was around to see? A. Rescued a spider (I'm terrified of them!)
- Volunteer at Wakefield
Our volunteers are truly amazing and we are grateful for every hour they put in at Wakefield. Some have been here over 40 years, other have been with us only 4 months, all are wonderful. Their kindness, compassion and dedication makes them not only excellent volunteers but excellent friends too. If you think you could join our amazing family at Samaritans Wakefield, find out more here.
