What an inspirational few months we have enjoyed, preparing for this amazing event. It has galvanised our branch and we have enjoyed a range of events, raising awareness of Samaritans' work.
What have we been up to?
Our Outreach Lead, Tracey, is a mad runner and she has driven us all to get involved. She has reached out to the local community and let them know what's going on.
Somerset has lit up green in parts, we carb-loaded in a local restaurant, took over Park Run and pledged our miles to the cause over the weekend. Dogs walked, tandems and bikes unearthed and trainers dusted off, our volunteers have loved the vibe of the London Marathon. And how proud are we to be in the limelight over the Marathon weekend?
Tracey ran her own marathon last weekend and raised over £2000 for our wonderful branch in the process. What a star!
