Stratford upon Avon Samaritans assist local schools and colleges
Our trained volunteers are regularly invited into various educational establishments to deliver interactive presentations and workshops to young people, covering emotional health, developing listening skills and raising awareness of what we do. Over the years we have established a strong relationship with many local schools and colleges who regularly invite our team along to present to student groups. Our team also supports MHAW (Mental Health Awareness Week) by attending Colleges with our awareness stands.
We also have a number of resources to support the work of education professionals
- Samaritans Step by Step service is a service which supports organisations working with young people so they can respond effectively following the suspected or attempted suicide of someone from within their community, taking practical steps to reduce the risk of further deaths in the area.
- DEAL (Developing Emotional Awareness and Listening) is a set of free online teaching resources. It is aimed at education professionals who work with young people aged around 14 and over. Find out more about DEAL and how to use the resources.
