Samaritans volunteers supporting college construction students to improve mental health and well-being
Construction is one of the worst industries to work in when it comes to mental ill health.
Workplace Mental Health in the Construction Industry - Laing O’Rourke
Samaritans Stockport & District Branch is working with Stockport College to help construction students develop resilience, improve their listening skills and expand their support network. Samaritan volunteers have run one workshop for staff and three for students.
This is a much needed and timely project to raise awareness of young people and adults looking to progress careers within the construction industry, around mental health issues. This unique partnership between the Samaritans and Stockport College will help our students develop their self-efficacy and understand when and where to get support.
