About Samaritans of Stockport and District
We serve as a listening ear for our local community, with ordinary people supporting those struggling to cope, round the clock, every single day of the year.
From our base in Heaton Moor, we offer emotional support by telephone. However, we proudly support the whole of Stockport, as well as neighbouring areas.
In 2022, our Stockport and District branch took 18,314 calls for help.
There are about 25-30 suicides per year in Stockport.
Areas we cover: Stockport, South Manchester (Didsbury, Chorlton, Wythenshawe, Levenshulme), Trafford (Altrincham, Hale, Hale Barns), Tameside (Hyde, Stalybridge) Glossop, New Mills, Wilmslow.
