Southend Samaritans

IMG_1065 (2).jpg

Opening in 1963, Southend Samaritans has been supporting the community from Shoeburyness to Benfleet and the surrounding areas, for over 60 years. We have over 80 volunteers some having been with us for more than 40 years.

Our shops at 38 Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff SS0 7LX (01702 436703), and 1456 London Road, Leigh on Sea SS9 2UW (01702 936101), are fully supported and run by volunteers and raise funds to enable our branch to remain open so we can continue to support our callers and those in the local community.

We have worked in partnership with Southend Borough Council, HARP Southend and Network Rail, including C2C and Greater Anglia. We have been out in the community working with Schools/Education, Village Green, Southend Pride and more.

If you are looking to volunteer with us at Southend Samaritans, either as a listening volunteer, in a support capacity or in one of our shops, click here to apply.

Watch our short video to find out a bit more about us.
