HSS Sewa run by Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (UK) is working in community engagement programs, on service projects and volunteering. HSS Sewa organises fundraising events every year to support local charities.
The HSS (UK) Slough Shakha and Maidenhead Balagokulam have decided to work with charities that provide support for mental health issues to raise awareness of mental health needs especially in young people.
Mental health is just like our physical health: everybody has it and we need to take care of it. Good mental health means to be able to feel and manage negative and positive situations and want to live your life happily. Mental health problems affect around one in four people in any given year and mental health issues in the community have risen considerably during the two years of pandemic. Therefore, we consider it is necessary to support local charities that provide support for this aspect of our well being.
Local mental health charity, the ‘Samaritans of Slough Windsor and Maidenhead’ have agreed to become part of our HSS Sewa 2022 project. We are organising a range of activities like walks, runs, yoga and online sales. during May to September 2022 to raise funds to support ‘Samaritans of Slough Windsor and Maidenhead’. We request everyone to keep few hours of their valuable time regularly during this period to be part of our Sewa activities and make it a success.'
