Welcome to’ Sevenoaks Stories’ the place where you can keep you up to date on all developments and news about Sevenoaks Samaritans. Here you can find and ways to engage with us, fundraise or volunteer for our branch.

Supporting Sevenoaks

We have been busy looking at ways to engage the local community with Sevenoaks Samaritans and we wanted to share some of our successes and upcoming plans with you. We have had some great successes with grants and funding, but we now urgently need help with our fundraising activies to help us grow our listening capability in Sevenoaks. Here are some initiatives we are working on, and we would love to get you involved:-

Brew Monday

Brew Monday is a takeover of ‘Blue Monday’ – the third Monday in January which has been dubbed ‘the most difficult day of the year’. Samaritans are helping to turn the day on its head by encouraging people to get together to have a chat over a cuppa and for 2021, all events will be online and can take place at any time throughout the winter months. Brew Monday is a really great way to engage with employees, team members, friends and family and fundraise for your local Samaritans branch! Get in touch for support in setting up your Brew Monday event.

Calling all Quizmasters!

If you are a budding quizmaster or have experience of hosting or creating fun quizzes, you could host an online quiz in aid of Samaritans and raise money for your local branch. Your local Samaritans team will support you in setting up your on-line event and ensure it is a great success. So, what is stopping you, get in touch and let us organise a fun quiz and raise vital funds for Sevenoaks Samaritans.

Easyfundraising

We are very pleased to be registered with easyfundraising, a great and easy way to raise money for Samaritans Sevenoaks with your everyday online shopping. Many large retailers work with easy fundraising including Argos, M&S, John Lewis, Amazon and many more. Please help us to raise money by sharing the following link with friends and families and by using easyfundraising with your online shopping.

Text to Donate

We are thrilled to have set up a Text to Donate feature for our supporters to easily raise funds in one click. This will help our fundraising efforts and all proceeds will go directly to Sevenoaks. Please spread the word by sharing with colleagues, friends and family or try it for yourself. Every penny counts and helps us be there for others who may need us.

Website Updates Sevenoaks

We wanted to make our website more connected with Sevenoaks and our Website team has uploaded an image of Knowle Park to help connect the site with Sevenoaks. Take a look and let us know what you think.

Every Thursday our twitter account will recognise our supporters. Recognition is important to us and we want to shout about the amazing support we are given. We are also planning a dedicated page on our website to celebrate individuals, organisations and groups who support us. Why not get involved and be part of our ‘Thank you Thursday’ campaign.
