Sevenoaks Samaritans is proud to be working with Walthamstow Hall Senior School in Sevenoaks and Entrepreneurs in Action to run a Classroom to Boardroom Programme from 6th – 9th July 2020
Classroom to Boardroom is a GenZ innovation programme, during which, in only 4 days, Walthamstow Hall Year 11 students will develop a solution to a business challenge shared by Samaritans.
In keeping with the government’s Covid-19 guidelines, this will be the first UK's first online charity and school innovation programme and will follow hot on the heels of last week’s successful online innovation programme with students from Geneva with UNICEF.
Over the course of 4 days, 17 pupils will be adopting the life of a business executive. They will be presented with a real challenge facing Sevenoaks Samaritans and will work together to find a solution. On Thursday 9th July, the participants will present their findings live to executives and volunteers from Samaritans all over the UK, using Microsoft Teams.
Sevenoaks Samaritans began in Autumn 2019 as a new operation and it already has around 40 volunteers training to take calls. As a ‘start up’, they are challenging the pupils to find the best way to raise awareness of Samaritans in the Sevenoaks area, to underpin both Fundraising and Recruitment.
This challenge brings together Samaritans, one the UK’s largest charities, Entrepreneurs in Action, award-winning enterprise scheme providers, and Walthamstow Hall Senior School, a leading private school for girls in Sevenoaks. We are very excited to be working together on this pioneering project and eagerly await the final presentation on 9th July.
