Becoming a volunteer
"I joined Samaritans as a volunteer so I could support people struggling to cope."
Are you able to listen to people tell their stories without judgement?
Can you offer a calm and caring voice to those in need?
Listening Volunteers
Samaritans listening volunteers are everyday people who devote some of their time to helping those in crisis.
We welcome volunteers from all walks of life (you must be at least 18 years of age), no formal qualifications or previous experience is required.
Medway Samaritans provides full training as well as a range of resources and services to support new volunteers.
Support Volunteers
Listening isn't right for everyone, but there are other ways you can help and get involved and help with administration, IT, fundraising, publicity and building maintenance.
