We attended Peterborough Regional College's Wellbeing Event
On 5th March Peterborough Samaritans spent some 3 hours at a Wellbeing Event in Peterborough Regional College.
Lots of other organisations were represented covering many areas including general health, carers, sex education, nutrition, fitness and mental health.
We are developing a good relationship with the college and will be back there later in the year
Bruce, Peterborough Samaritan Volunteer
Some 230 students attended and around 45 spoke to us as did several members of staff. We gave out many cards publicising our service and several of the students who spoke to us had already been in touch with Samaritans in the past. Having said that quite a few students hadn't heard of us - but they have now!
There are many students with disabilities and several of their tutors and support workers took away our cards so that they can ensure their students know about Samaritans and the support that is available.
It was another great event and we thank everyone at Peterborough Regional College for their support.
