Raising awareness of the Peterborough Branch in conjunction with Network Rail.
As part of our partnership with Network Rail volunteers from Peterborough Samaritans were raising awareness of the Branch and the work of Samaritans in St John's Square Peterborough - off Cathedral Square from 9.00 am to 4.00pm on Saturday 7th March.
We gave out a substantial amount of information which was well received - a good day and certainly worthwhile
Janet, listening volunteer.
Volunteers enjoyed the successful day, twenty volunteers from the Branch and two Leeds Building Society partners helped on the day – a number that amazed the Central Office organisers. We had 7 Face-2-Face contacts and, we estimate, over 300 other conversations, raising £32 in donations. The Mayor attended and the Chair of PCC Charities Committee, both useful contacts. We made contacts with other local services supporting those with mental health and bereavement issues. We have kept in contact and have been sharing responses during the current Coronavirus situation. We will continue to work together through the local Suicide Prevention group.
We received a highly complementary ‘thank you’ from the Network Rail team.
