Pennine Community Credit Union (PCCU) donates £19,000 to local charities.
The ethical, financial co–operative that serves the local community, Pennine Community Credit Union (PCCU), has generously donated £19,000 to local charities and good causes.
The Pendle branch of Samaritans – incidentally celebrating its 50th anniversary this year – is just one of the grateful recipients to receive a cheque.
As a token of our sincere appreciation, Pendle Samaritans' Treasurer, Pauline Hirons, met with PCCU CEO Kathryn Fogg, to present the credit union with our big, novelty-sized, "thank you".
Commenting on the kindness of PCCU, Pendle Branch Director Victoria Haworth, said:
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to PCCU for their generous donation. Samaritans’ work has never been more important in these difficult times. The lifeline we extend via our dedicated volunteers, helps callers talk through their concerns and problems. All volunteers offer their time completely free; nevertheless our branch has significant running costs, and donations such as received today, from PCCU, go a long way towards funding what we do.
Kathryn Fogg, Chief Executive Officer at PCCU added:
Besides offering affordable loans and competitive savings, PCCU is committed to champion as many local charities and good causes as possible. To this end, we are delighted to be able to support our local Samaritans, whose volunteers do a brilliant job, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Kathryn Fogg
PCCU have had previous involvement with Pendle Samaritans, letting people know it's okay to talk by hosting one of our special Brew Monday meetings.
Our sincere thanks go out to Pendle Community Credit Union, for all the kindness they've shown us. It's only with the help of fundraising that we can truly make a difference to the lives of our callers.
With your help, we can be there for those in need.
