On what's been called one of the toughest days of the year, Pendle Samaritans have ground 'Blue Monday' into 'Brew Monday'.
January the 18th is often considered to be one of the most difficult days of the year.
And what a difficult year it has been.
To combat these dreary days - and armed with our special P.G. Tips sponsored tea bags - Pendle Samaritans have been encouraging us to reach out and stay connected with each other, by taking part in one of our 'Brew Monday' events.
Each Monday, throughout this winter, we're asking you to reach out to friends, family, colleagues - you name it - for a cuppa and a video chat.
Tea, coffee - whatever your drink of choice - calling someone and taking the time to listen, can make a whole world of difference.
Talking through our thoughts and feelings over a brew is one of the best things we can do for our emotional wellbeing, especially when we feel as though we've really been listened to, and at time when feeling connected to each other is more important than ever, a phone or video call from someone we trust, can be enough to brighten our day.

Need a bit of help to get you started?
We've got you covered.
These handy tips (and maybe some P.G.Tips!) will help you become an even better listener:
- Show you care by giving the person your full attention.
- Offer reassurance you won’t judge them.
- Have patience as they try to work out their feelings.
- Use positive body language and keep eye contact.
- Ask open questions and offer small phrases of encouragement.
- Don’t be afraid of silence as this can allow someone to process their thoughts.
- Clarify what you’ve heard to see if there’s still something to talk through or a different way of looking at things.
Whoever you call, and whatever you drink, it's a great step to being there for each other, one sip at a time. ☕
