Volunteers from Bromley and Orpington Samaritans were once again delighted to represent their branch in the 2022 Gay Pride Parade. It was a fun day with lots of volunteers from all over the country joining in with the estimated 1.5 million attendees.
Volunteers were 'made up' by our Festival Branch to look cheerful and colourful and were handed flags and whistles to join the cacophony of sound and vision. The main Parade started from Great Portland Street before weaving its way around the City and on to Park Lane.
Volunteers carried placards that said "It's your call ....no judgement, no pressure" and handed out leaflets that showed the support that Samaritans can offer. In return, people called out "thank you, you saved my life".
