Why your support is vital
In order to be there for our callers 24/7, the running costs of our branch total £210 per day – that’s £76,650 per year.
We receive no funding from our Samaritans Central Office and we are responsible for raising all our own funds locally.
It is your support that enables us to be there for caller in their hour of need – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Fundraising is essential to keep our branch running. It also helps to build connections in our local community.

Fundraising as a volunteer
By joining our fundraising team as a volunteer you can support the fundraising events and activities we organise in branch. These can include:
- Funding applications to local trusts
- Bucket collections (theatres, football games, supermarkets, etc)
- Awareness stalls
- Quiz nights
- Garden parties
Fundraising as a supporter
Many supporters enjoy fundraising for us in their workplace, with friends, or by themselves out on the running track. These can include all types of things:
- Bake sales
- Flea markets
- Fashion shows
- Marathons
- Sponsored walks/bike rides
