A celebration of all things farming
This event is an opportunity for Young Farmers to compete in all manner of activities – some farming related…………..some just good fun, from livestock judging to fence erecting, to sheep shearing to eating competitions, tug-of-war, machinery skills, egg-throwing and Land Rover & trailer handling.
The event is centred on young farmers (members are aged from 10 – 28 years).
This is an industry with a particularly high suicide rate, and young men are especially at risk.
We hope to see lots of friends and family (many farmers themselves) who come to support their youngsters and socialise with their peers.
Our aim by attending this event is to raise awareness of the role of Samaritans, our 24/7 availability and that we offer a confidential and non-judgemental service that is free to access.
We will do this by talking to visitors and handing out cards, leaflets and other merchandise.
Its being held at Thirsk Auction Mart, The Rural Business Centre, Blakey Lane, Thirsk, YO7 3AB. open 9am - 5pm.
The weather is going to be great so lets hope there's an amazing turnout!
