Volunteer Recognition Day is celebrated on 20th April each year and is observed to honour and respect all volunteers around the world.
Volunteers assist in saving lives and provide moral and financial support to improve the lives of millions of people.
As a result Samaritans rightly mark this event with our own special Thanking Day.
How are we celebrating Thanking Day 2022?
To celebrate and recognise the efforts of all our Manchester and Salford volunteers, you will each be receiving a handwritten thank you card to emphasise our appreciation for all the time and sacrifice you make to ensure we continue to offer our vital services to those in need. There will also be baskets of chocolates in the branch – please help yourself and enjoy!
Keep an eye on our Twitter feed, @SamsManchester, for our messages of thanks to those organisations and people who help us to deliver our services throughout the year.
How can you get involved?
Please see the article here Thanking Day 2022 (samaritans.org) for further information and ideas on how you can get involved in Thanking Day, with ready made selfie signs and ideas for Tweets that you can make of your own.
