About Powys Samaritans
Powys Samaritans is the youngest Samaritans branch (premises based) in the UK, we were set up in the wake of the foot and mouth outbreak in 1994. Over the last 24 years the Branch has moved from a 1 bedroomed flat to renting a larger premises. We also now have a shop which brings in the majority of our funding, all staffed by volunteers, with 100% of funds raised benefiting our Branch. The branch has gone from strength to strength, so much so we are now looking to move to larger permanent premises.
