In May 2024 we were absolutely delighted to find out that Liverpool Samaritans have been awarded £20,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund to help us develop our outreach.
This funding will help us to conduct early intervention work by reaching out to individuals who are struggling to cope before they reach crisis point. We hope to become more visible and accessible to our local communities.
This includes creating a community space to enable drop in and open days.
It is hoped that the project may encourage more individuals to contact Samaritans (by increasing visibility), and also provide direct support through outreach activities.
This funding will help us continue to link our outreach work in with our local partners including the Emergency Services, Merseyrail, Network Rail etc as well as hopefully establishing some new partnerships.
