How we can help
Welcome to Lincoln Samaritans
Face to Face update
We are not able to take face-to-face calls in branch. If you need support please contact Samaritans on 116123 (a free number) or [email protected].
LISTENING ROLES
Listening Roles - We would welcome applications from anyone interested in becoming a Samaritans Listener. A Samaritans listener is there to give emotional support and a listening ear to our callers. If you can give a small amount of time each week, I know our callers would be grateful. We will be holding information sessions where you can come along and find out a bit more about Lincoln Samaritans, meet some of our brilliant volunteers and get an idea of what the role entails.- Watch out for dates on the website!
SUPPORT ROLES
We would welcome applications from anyone interested in volunteering at our branch in a support role. These are essential roles! The branch cannot run without support volunteers.
If you would like to help us we need people to join our fundraising team. This would be a volunteer role - working with the leader for fundraising to apply for funding to help support the branch. This is a vital role as all Samaritans branches are self-funding and therefore we need at least £40,000 annually. If you are interested please email [email protected]
About Us
We have about 50 volunteers. They listen to our callers, on the phone. Lincoln Samaritans also supports a listening service at Her Majesty's Prison Lincoln.
We are all volunteers and the branch has to raise all of our operating costs which is in the region of £40,000 per year therefore fundraising is essential! We are keen to encourage people from our local community to get involved with raising funds for our branch. If you are able to support the branch with a donation either personally or from a company, charitable fund or indeed a small bequest in a will, we, and more importantly our callers would be most grateful.
You are welcome to find out more about Lincoln Samaritans and our roles by clicking on the following links: our latest news, fundraising, outreach and the prison listening service.
If you have a little time to spare, why not apply to be a volunteer? There are lots of different roles from administration to listening to callers and we would love to welcome you to our team. Just click on the link below.
