Christmas can be a time where we get to share our time with loved ones, but that's not always the case for everyone and Christmas can be a very difficult time and it can be a struggle to cope.
Samaritans are there 24/7 providing a listening service to our callers - that one call could just change someone's life. Whilst Christmas can be a joyful time of year for some, it is also a time where people may struggle to cope.
Christmas can also be a particularly stressful time of year which can affect people's mental health and wellbeing. Here at Samaritans we want people to be able to reach out to us and have someone there to listen. Around this time of year, there can also be an expectation to be happy and spend time with loved ones, but for some this is sadly not always the case.
By donating or fundraising for our branch this Christmas, you may just bring a little sparkle and shine into someone's life.

EasyFundraising
This is an extremely easy way to fundraise. Whilst we are shopping online more than ever due to the current circumstances, this is a no-brainer to help raise vital funds for the Branch. You just need to visit the site via this link. You can also download this as an app on your phone via here.
You will then need to select Leeds Samaritans and then shop on the same websites as you normally would. This includes big retailers such as M&S, Argos, John Lewis including some holiday booking companies. The retailer will then donate the money and it costs you no more than shopping directly with that retailer. This is probably one of the easiest ways that we can fundraise for the Branch and every penny really does add up and contribute towards keeping our vital services going.

If you wanted to donate to branch £2, for example, you would text SAMSLEEDS2 to 70085 to donate £2. Each text costs £2 plus two standard rate messages. You can donate any amount you would like to the branch, all donations are gratefully received. All proceeds go directly to the branch and we are thankful for everything the community continues to do to support us.

Our Samaritans volunteers in Leeds are at Leeds Train Station on 16 December 2021 between 10am and 7pm. Why not come and have a chat with us and pop down on your daily commute and help us raise vital funds to keep our service running.
