Kingston Council and RNLI Teddington install floating lifelines around local bridges.
Kingston Samaritans are part of the local River Safety Forum, working with several agencies, including Kingston and Richmond Borough Councils and the RNLI Teddington, to improve safety along the local stretches of the River Thames.
They have created and installed floating lifelines around Kingston Bridge to improve river safety. Bridge Buttress Lifelines (see photo below) encircle the base of the arches of Kingston Road and Rail Bridges, providing anyone who accidentally ends up in the water with something to grab hold of.
