Staff, Pupils & Parents at KES Academy raised an amazing £2,000 in the "Move to Support Kings Lynn Samaritans" campaign
The staff Well-Being team at KES Academy are passionate about supporting its staff & local community and, after reading a story recently in Your Local Paper about the Kings Lynn Samaritans who were really struggling to continue to raise funds to meet the demand for the vital service they provide in our local community, engaged the entire school community to help..
As you will imagine, the demand for the Samaritans service increased, during the Covid-19 pandemic, whilst at the same time the supply of funds to meet this demand unfortunately become almost non-existent. Lots of planned fundraising was cancelled and an article in Your Local Paper shared how hard it was for the Kings Lynn Samaritans to continue providing their lifesaving 24-hour service.
So, all of the KES community “Moving to support the Samaritans“ and asking for small donations really made a difference, to our local community and, particularly, the most vulnerable souls who Kings Lynn Samaritans help, guides and serves.
What did KES do to help?
Parents, pupils, staff, family & friends walked, cycled, rowed, or jogged or and then made a donation directly to the Kings Lynn Samaritans. KES really wanted the donations to go directly to the King's Lynn branch and to made sure every penny is invested, serving our local community and its most vulnerable.
An example of this was a family going for a 5 K walk and then making a £5 donation.
A huge thanks goes to the parents, pupils, family, friends but most especially to the staff at KES for this wonderful effort to help some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Thank You!
