So many people have it in them to be a Samaritans volunteer
So many people have it in them to be a Samaritans volunteer. To touch another person's life when it really matters, by helping them directly, or by keeping our branches running, is a rare gift.
The volunteers at Hull are a friendly, dedicated group. They are ordinary people, just like you, who have been trained in the very best ways to provide non-judgemental emotional support. They come from all age groups and many walks of life, all are welcome.
We really need more volunteer listeners, the key people who deliver this vital service. The usual time expectation of listening volunteers at Hull is 48 three hour shifts a year. The expectation is that at least 6 of these shifts are night shifts. Night times are when our callers need us most so applications are particularly welcome from people willing and able to do a regular night shift.
