Volunteers accept cheque for £500 from the pub's weekly meat raffle
Customers at The Dog & Bacon Pub in Horsham have donated £500 to the Horsham & Crawley branch of Samaritans.
The money was raised during the popular Meat Raffle, which takes place in the pub on a Friday night.
Samaritans is the latest charity to receive a donation from the raffle; the charities are chosen by the proprietors of the pub, Kathryn and Phil.
£500 is a really generous amount of money and will go a long way towards helping us with our various outreach projects; allowing us to reach people who may not otherwise have access to information about what we do.

In addition to the meat raffle, the pub also hosts a regular pub quiz. Samaritans hope to enter a team at one of the forthcoming quizzes, which we are looking forward to.
As well as helping to run the branch, donations like this are used to recruit and train new listening volunteers. This allows the branch to meet its commitment of keeping the service available to callers 24 hours a day.
