The Horsham Artists Contemporary Art Fair was held at Parkside on Saturday 19th -Sunday 20th October 2024.
In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Horsham Artists group recently donated 35 original pieces of art for a raffle aimed at supporting the Samaritans of Horsham and Crawley. This generous contribution was part of the Horsham Contemporary Art Fair, an annual event that brings together local artists and makers to showcase and sell their work.
The raffle, held in the reception area of the fair, featured a diverse range of artwork, including paintings, ceramics, textiles, and jewellery . The proceeds from the raffle directly benefit the Horsham and Crawley branch of Samaritans, an organisation dedicated to providing emotional support to those in distress or at risk of suicide.
The event not only highlighted the incredible talent within the Horsham artistic community but also underscored the importance of supporting mental health initiatives. By donating their work, the artists have made a meaningful impact, helping to ensure that the Samaritans can continue their vital services in the local area.
This collaboration between the Horsham Artists and the Samaritans is a testament to the power of art in fostering community connections and supporting those in need. It serves as a reminder of the positive change that can be achieved when creativity and compassion come together.
A great family event which raised essential funds for Samaritans
Volunteers from Samaritans worked in shifts throughout the weekend, selling raffle tickets and engaging with members of the public.
It was a great weekend and a real joy to be able to talk to so many people about the work we do. In addition to this we raised £2600 for our branch. It was such a fun way to raise money and winners of the raffle were delighted with their prizes.
