Our listening volunteer Penny completed the Hastings Half Marathon on the 24th March, raising funds for the Hastings and Rother branch of Samaritans.
The Hastings Half Marathon takes place every March, with runners raising funds for the charity of their choice. This year, over 2,500 runners took part in the half marathon, one of which was Samaritans volunteer Penny, who ran in support of the Hastings and Rother Samaritans branch.
Running 13.1 miles in an impressive 2 hours and 36 minutes, Penny raised £300 for Hastings and Rother Samaritans. This amazing fund raising will contribute towards helping us supporting our listeners, as well as our outreach efforts in local schools, prisons, and mental health units.
A big "Thank you!" to Penny from all of us at Hastings and Rother Samaritans.
