Hastings and Rother Samaritans Volunteer Steve has been recognised by the 1066 Community Awards for his sponsored cycling journey in aid of Samaritans.
Last month, Hastings and Rother Samaritans Volunteer Steve completed his 40 day cycle for Sussex to Shetland visiting a number of Samaritans branches along the way.
After accomplishing this great feat, the 1066 Community Awards chose Steve as the "1066 Volunteer of the Year". Steve was "humbled and surprised to have been chosen" and said that "All of Hastings Samaritans and everyone who joined or supported the ride shares this award."

Steve's incredible effort has raised over £4,000 for Samaritans, and we at Hastings and Rother Samaritans are all very thankful for not only his fundraising, but the incredible support he gives to our callers.
