Great Yarmouth Samaritans came together to celebrate being awarded The King's Award for Voluntary Service
November last year, Great Yarmouth Samaritans were awarded The King's Award for Voluntray Service. After attending a Buckingham Palace Garden Party and officially receiving the award in June the Branch came together to celebrate with a coffee and cake morning.
Great Yarmouth Samaritans was one of 262 local charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups to receive the prestigious award this year. This award goes to show the ways our fantastic volunteers are contributing to the local community and working to make life better for those around them.
On Saturday 13th July, branch volunteers, old and new, came together to mark this special achievement. We were joined by Samaritans Regional Director, Jenny Meads, and Henry Cator, Deputy Lieutenant for Norfolk.
We enjoyed tea and cake and it was a great way to celebrate together as a branch.
Jude, Great Yarmouth Branch Director
