It has been a busy year for Great Yarmouth Samaritans - here is a glance of what we have been doing in our community.
At Great Yarmouth Samaritans we believe in supporting our community and raising awareness about what we do. We have been all over the region support organistations and individuals, raising awareness and collecting funds for our branch. Here is just a glance at some of the places and events we have attended.
Local Theatres
Back in January we were at The Pavillion Theatre in Gorleston collecting donations and meeting the stars of the show. In August we were at Britannia Pier in Great Yarmouth collecting funds during Sarah Millican's tour.
Local Colleges
In May we were at East Coast College in Great Yarmouth kicking off Mental Health Awareness Month.
Local Festivals and Shows
In July, we attended the Norfolk Show celebrating Young Acheivers, this was followed later in the summer with Hopton-on-Sea's Party in the Park with a raffle and tombola. In August, we were at Ormesby Village Fete and Shrublands Summer Fun Day.
Local Supermarkets
We love it when supermarkets invite us to raise awareness and collect donations. In July we were at Asda in Great Yarmouth. In December, we were at Tesco in Caister.
The volunteers in our branch are amazing - we want to say a massive thanks to everyone who has helped out at any of our events.

What a year it has been. This is just a glance of the things we have been involved with. We also had a great year celebrating being awarded The King's Award for Voluntary Service, that we received towards the end of 2023, by attending a Buckingham Palace garden party and a Branch get together over the summer, and we've also had volunteers taking part in sponsored events.
