Volunteers from Great Yarmouth Samaritans were out spreading our message at Tesco in Caister
On Saturday 2nd December volunteers from Great Yarmouth Samaritans visited Tesco in Caister to raise awareness about what we do.
During the day we collected a total of £523 as well as chatting to some of Tesco's very generous customers. The staff were friendly and helpful and the customers were lovely to chat to during the day. One member of staff commented that she thought the reason we were doing well was that everyone on our stand looked cheerful while collecting and interacting with people.
During the day, no less than 11 of our volunteers and friends gave up an hour or two of their weekend to help. Thanks to everyone that helped.
The stand out moment of the day was the man who put a coin in a bucket as he went past and simply said, 'you saved my life'. A moment like that makes all that we do worthwhile.
Jude, Great Yarmouth Branch Director
Also a massive thank you to Tesco Caister for offering us the chance to raise funds and awareness of our branch. It was much appreciated.
