The Phoenix Community Centre

The Phoenix Centre in Matson offers so many opportunities. It aims to deliver a better joined up approach between local services and to reach out and connect people with the assets in their local community. Although the project focuses on people of all ages, great emphasis has been placed on supporting vulnerable people who are socially isolated or suffering with mental health issues. It offers a warm space and also includes a community shed and a garden. It runs a weekly carer's hub and also courses in IT, cooking, woodwork and furniture renovation. Gloucester Samaritans visit regularly and thoroughly enjoy engaging with people in this special place.
