President Michael D Higgins has sent his warmest festive greetings to the more than 2000 active Samaritan volunteers across all 21 Branches of Samaritans in Ireland for their profound and positive impact on many lives, "often making the difference between life and death".
He speaks of the values of the Samaritan Volunteers - Solidarity, Care, Compassion, Kindness and Sensitivity - and the impact of COVID-19 on the lives of so many.
