Raising funds is crucial to keep Samaritans of Farnborough & District Samaritans running.
The Samaritans of Farnborough and District is self funded and relies entirely on generous donations from the public and local businesses for our running costs. The money we raise is different from that of the main Samaritans charity as donations we receive are spent sustaining and maintaining our own branch. This includes covering the costs of selection and training, the technological systems, and building maintenance.
You can donate to our branch via our Enthuse donation page or send cheques made out to 'Samaritans of Farnborough and District'.
Our fundraising team facilitates donations received and organises events to raise money. These may include arranging collections in local areas, such as The Meadows in Camberley or The Meads in Farnborough. We can also be found at community events such as Fleet Market, Yateley May Fair and Music in the Meadows in Farnham. Look out for our volunteers in their green vests, and pop some change in the collection bucket if you can.
The team is also in charge of special events, including our annual curry night fundraiser - a chance to socialise with our fellow volunteers over some delicious food while taking part in raffles and auctions.
We are lucky to have local people in the community, and even our own volunteers, take part in challenges such as sponsored runs including the annual Samarathon - walk, jog or run 26.2 miles throughout the month of July to make sure every call for help is answered - to raise money for our branch.
