This year's University Mental Health Day is taking place on Thursday 13th March to raise awareness of, and champion, good mental health amongst our student population.
This year's University Mental Health Day is taking place on the 13th March at Summerhall, Newington, EH9 1PL. It's aim is to raise awareness of, and champion, good mental health amongst our student population. The daytime festival will have a variety of classes, including songwriting and yoga, workshops and activities for students to take part in, as well as being able to seek support from a range of organisations, charities and university departments.
The daytime festival runs from 10am-4pm, for which there is no charge, and will be complemented by a celebratory dinner and ceilidh from 6pm, at a cost of £30, purchased in advance from TicketSource.
The event will have a theme of belonging, to try and bring together the Edinburgh student community, promote frank and honest conversations about mental health, wellbeing, and self-care, as well as educating students in a variety of different ways they can look after themselves, which they may not previously have considered. This is a fun event, with free workshops, goodies and merchandise, as well as freebies. However, the space will also be a safe place for students to open up and seek support, should they so require.
Please see TicketSource to book tickets for the ceilidh and to reserve the yoga and songwriting workshops (no charge) https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/samaritans-of-edinburgh)
This event is presented by Edinburgh Samaritans and Edinburgh Nightline, in partnership with the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Napier University.
