Enjoying a brew at Waverley Station
Determined to put the Blue Monday myth in the bin, our volunteers were at Waverley Station on Monday 17th January to spread warmth and cheer on Brew Monday, Samaritans' national awareness day, to encourage people to get together for a brew and a chat. Starting at 8 a.m., our volunteers greeted a trail of commuters arriving and departing from the centre of Edinburgh.
We were supported by Cross Country Trains, who brought tea & biscuits, and Dereck Grant, Railway Chaplain for the East of Scotland.
As well as bringing some Monday morning cheer, we hope by handing our Brew Monday T-Bags and listening tips, that these will help open up conversations between people. Also, if you missed Brew Monday, don't worry, any day is a good day for a brew and a catch-up because there's always something to talk about. For more information on how to host your own event later in the month and helpful tips for listening, visit our campaign page.
Thank you to everyone who popped over and said hello to us.
